These terms and conditions shall govern your use of our website. By using Pretty HTML, you accept these terms and conditions in full; accordingly, if you disagree with these terms and conditions or any part of these terms and conditions, you must not use our website.

Pretty HTML uses cookies and localStorage so that your preferences and editor content are preserved when you refresh the page, navigate to another page, or close and reopen the site. All editing and processing happen entirely in your browser; we do not send your code or content to our servers.

Cookies we use

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Pretty HTML uses the following cookies on this website:

• FirstTimeVisitHere - Used to detect whether you are visiting for the first time (e.g. to show or skip demo content). This is a first-party cookie set by our site.
• Saved cleaning options - Cookies that store your chosen options for the HTML cleaning tools (e.g. which options you have checked under the source editor). These help the site remember your preferences for future visits.
• Saved tag options - Cookies that store your chosen tag-related settings (e.g. which tag filters or options you have enabled). These are also used only to restore your preferences.
• Cookie check - A temporary cookie may be used to verify that cookies are enabled in your browser, so we can inform you if you need to enable them to use the site.

We do not use cookies to store your actual HTML or editor content. Third-party services (such as Google Analytics and advertising networks) may set their own cookies in accordance with their privacy policies; we do not control those cookies.

localStorage we use

localStorage is a browser feature that lets websites store data on your device. Data in localStorage is not sent to the server with every request (unlike cookies) and is not shared with third parties by Pretty HTML.

• Editor content (ph_editors): We save the text from the HTML editor (source and visual editor) into localStorage so that when you navigate away, refresh, or close and reopen the site, your work is restored. Content is saved only when it is under 50,000 characters. If your document is 50,000 characters or longer, we do not save it to localStorage, so very large documents will not be restored automatically. This data is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers.

Pretty HTML never sends your code or content to our servers. We do not operate a database, do not offer user accounts or login functionality, and do not store personal information.

We use third-party services such as web hosting providers, Cloudflare, analytics tools, and advertising networks. These third parties may use cookies or collect technical and usage-related data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control how these third parties collect or process data.

Our General Data Protection Regulation" (GDPR) ensures that your valuable information remains safe. The cleaned HTML documents are never sent to our server and we don't have access to them. Please note that your browser or your installed and enabled browser plugins may have access to your documents.

We use cookies to save your preferred cleaning and tag settings to your device, and we use localStorage to save your editor content (when it is under 50,000 characters) so it can be restored when you return. This data stays on your device.

Pretty HTML doesn't collect and store personal data but we use third party plugins that may do. Please check the Privacy Policies of these services to learn more: Google Analytics, Google Adsense, AddThis, Facebook widget. We may add new or remove any of these programs at any time without notice. Check the source code of the website to identify these plugins.
